Most recent visit to AZ was at WDL’s newest storefront. Got lost, but as usual Ravi was there. Haha Anyhow, I wanted a set of dedicated track shoes and already having purchased a set of OMP TE glove set, I decided to purchase the shoes as well. They were out of stock, but Ravi gave me great feedback and had a similar shoe to sample at the shop. After driving on them for a few events, they are pretty comfortable and fit pretty true to size. The quality is great as expected. Another thing to note is how light they are compared to wearing regular shoes to a track day. During my last outing at Road Atlanta, the soles were stiff enough for hard driving, but not to a point where it was uncomfortable. If you wear them walking around the paddock during a DE day, your feet might get a bit of ache. Go ahead and swap to your regular shoes if you’re waiting on your session. Another thing to note is how I never had any issues with the shoe contacting the pedals. They provide enough tactile feedback to the driver especially paired with a full bucket seat. The only downside to anything Alcantara is the wear, but that is to be expected. All in all, I’m happy with my purchase and for Ravi switching to red and black as opposed to black and black. Ravi was one of the individuals that helped me get started in NASA AZ. Considering I’m out of state now and not currently in AZ, I still buy from him before I go anywhere else for safety equipment etc. That speaks alot.
I thought I would think the less expensive shoes would give me the pedal feel I wanted. Nope. I tried these on and was sold. Well worth the small increase in price. And they fit like a glove. I got the red for a splash of color too!
Everything from OMP feels like a quality product and fits like a dream, these are no different. They provide good feedback from the car but stay comfortable while strolling around the paddock. No visible wear to speak of one season in!
